I've known Imani for over two decades, and one of the things I admire most about her is that she will go to the mat for what she believes in. In her work- and calling - as a chaplain she often speaks with people in times of tragedy, crisis and emotional upheaval. It's in those moments when she makes sure you know you are not alone. It's also in those moments when she brings to bear her training and experiences as a brand strategist and motivational speaker. She is a woman of integrity, honor, and truly one of the most complex thinkers I know.

Imani is a confidant, colleague and without a doubt, a consummate professional. Having recently walked through one of the most trying seasons of my life, I have benefited greatly from her chaplaincy, counseling, and mentoring which helped me put things in proper perspective and keep my life progressing in a positive direction.

Imani is a sound voice of encouragement and empowerment for professional women who are juggling successful careers, Mommyhood, marriage and the mental impact and toll that each takes on her self-worth and esteem. She is always able to help sift through the noise to help reset and refocus on our faith in God and grace-to ourselves.

The Cristo Rey Corporate Work Study Program is an innovative workforce development program integrated with a rigorous college preparatory curriculum serving low-income students nationwide. Our Corporate Partners serve as supervisors, professional mentors, and life coaches for our high school students. Imani so far exceeded expectations with our students that my colleagues and I often wondered aloud if we could clone her!

We have never seen anyone connect with students (or adults) so quickly and effectively. And her creative techniques with our students are already serving as standard training models as we expand our program over the next quadrennial.

Imani Brooks-Wheeler is a dynamic, captivating, and a compelling speaker who also happens to be an amazing person. As a chaplain who has worked at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas, the 2012 London Olympics, and UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica, Imani has a wealth of experience to pull from as a source of inspiration.
